Fraport Twin Star Airport Management AD (FTSEM AD) as a concessionaire at Burgas Airport. According to the Concession Agreement, signed on September 10, 2006 between FTSEM and the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Bulgaria, the modernization and development of the flight field at Burgas Airport is a part of its investment program.
During the evaluation of the existing facilities and runway pavements in 2014-2015, it was discovered that most of the concrete floorings were in poor condition and needed urgent reconstruction. Due to the ongoing compromise of the maneuver pavements, the broken drainage system, and weak soils, the reconstruction of airport maneuvering runway “A” at Burgas Airport is planned.
